Following the success of previous collaborations 'Dhuaan', 'Unathi', and 'Zaharlia', El Michels Affair reunite with fellow NY resident Piya Malik (former member of 79.5 and 178 Product) for their first collaborative album, Yeti Season, and release the third single 'Murkit Gem'. 
Born to an East African Indian father and a mother from the Indian Himalayas, and raised in London, Malik is the great niece of the celebrated 1950’s Bollywood music producer Jaidev. Following El Michels 2020 album Adult Themes, 'Murkit Gem' is bold and unusual. Swirling hypnotically in its own repetition, an uncanny bass organ line opens the tune, pinned against crunchy, retro sounding drum beat. Piya Malik's Hindi vocals ripple in expansive Indian scales.
